What’s new in Houdini 15.5 :
Although I plan to work with Blender (which has the advantage of being free), Houdini has always been, for me, a potential software to make SPACELANDERS.
Its procedural approach is a real plus compared to other softwares on the market. It is very clearly turned towards the creation of tools.
This could be super useful. The ability to create tools for example to generate different types of the same kind of object or distribute objects in a scene could save me a lot of time when producing different episodes.
In addition, the software includes everything you need to manage VFX like liquid simulations, smoke, fire, crowd, dynamic simulations but also a procedural approach to animation. I think it will help me for the screens in the spaceships and mechanisms animations.
The crowd simulations will be very useful for filling the places where there should be in activity such as spaceports, stations, planets, etc …
I tested the previous learning version and its interface can be a bit complicated to understand at first but in the end it offers plenty of customization options.
In short, I will continue to test this software because it seems complete enough to manage a project like SPACELANDERS.
